2hives Guided Meditation Challenge: rules
Last updated: 15 October 2026. The English text is the binding one; translations follow it.
The 2hives Guided Meditation Challenge ("the challenge") is run by 2BEE FARM PTY LTD (ABN 57 697 830 461), trading as 2hives ("we", "us"). These rules are part of the Terms and Conditions. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep.
1. What the challenge is
A challenge edition is a run of 30 days in which a day counts when you have listened for 10 minutes or more in 2hives that day. Listening for longer still adds to your minutes. We count your minutes for you. Taking part is optional. It is a habit challenge, not a health, therapy or wellbeing program, and nothing in it is medical advice. It has no prizes.
2. Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older, and you confirm that when you join. The challenge is not open to anyone under 18, even with a parent or guardian's permission (this rule applies to the challenge even though section 2 of the Terms is wider). We may ask you to show that you are an adult, and we may remove an enrolment if we have good reason to think you are not.
- Challenge teams are for adults only (18 or older), and so are the other group features described below.
- Public profiles are for adults only (18 or older).
- One 2hives account per person, and one enrolment per account in each edition. Creating several accounts to collect benefits, or to appear more than once on a leaderboard, is not allowed.
- You take part on your own account. You can't take part for another person.
- You accept these rules with the required box on the join form.
3. Editions and dates
| Edition | Sign-ups open | Day 1 | Day 30 | Last day to join | Finale group session |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| World Meditation Day 2026 to 2027 | 7 November 2026 | 21 December 2026 | 19 January 2027 | 26 December 2026 | 20 January 2027, 8 pm Melbourne time (and again at 8 am the same day) |
- You can join from the day sign-ups open, but counting starts on Day 1. Nothing before 21 December 2026 counts toward the challenge, even if you joined in November: listening before Day 1 is never counted, and your streak and calendar begin on Day 1. Your included sessions and any Plus pass also begin on Day 1. Daily emails start then too; before it we send at most a welcome email and one reminder the day before, and only if you ticked the daily-email box.
- Before Day 1. You can start or join a team before Day 1.
- Before Day 1. You can set up a public profile before Day 1.
- A day runs from midnight to midnight in the time zone you set when you join. If you change your time zone, we recalculate the days already counted in the new zone.
- Days before the day you join do not count. The day you join does.
- There is an opening group session on Day 1 (21 December, at 8 am and again at 8 pm Melbourne time) and a finale group session, both open to everyone, in the live sessions listed on the live page. Neither counts toward your 30 days.
- We may move a date, or cancel an edition before it starts, for a technical, safety or legal reason. If we do, we will tell everyone who has joined by email (if you chose emails) and on the challenge page.
4. How days are counted
- Minutes come from listening. A day counts when the minutes you actually listen to full sessions in 2hives, on that local day, reach 10 minutes (600 seconds). Previews, samples and spoken lines don't count. Nobody enters minutes by hand. A session that plays while nobody listens (for example, started by a script or a tool) is not listening, and we may discount it.
- Two rest days. The first two days after you join on which you don't reach 10 minutes are rest days: your streak stands, and the day is not counted as done. A further missed day ends the streak at 0. Rest days are not given back. Today never breaks anything until it has ended.
- Finished is 25 or more counted days out of 30. Full 30 is all 30. These are independent of the streak.
- Group sessions. Minutes you hear in a live group session count toward your day in the same way, when the session is recorded for you: that is, when you are in a challenge team (section 6) or have joined a team's session as a guest.
- One daily amount. There is no daily-time choice: every day needs 10 minutes, the same for everyone. Minutes above 10 still add to your total.
- If a fault on our side loses or miscounts your minutes, tell us at info@2hives.com and we will correct the count where our records allow. Our count is final, subject to your rights under the law.
5. What is included, and Plus
- Included sessions. While you take part, from the first day of your edition (not from the day you sign up) until three days after its last day, you can stream a set of ready-made sessions of 10, 20 and 30 minutes. They are for streaming only: no downloads and no offline copy. Nothing is made for you or around your name. The access ends when you leave the challenge or delete your challenge record, and three days after the last day. You get it whether or not you get a Plus pass.
- 2hives Plus pass. When you join, we try to give your account a Plus pass at no charge that covers the whole of your edition and three days after it, however late you join. That is not always possible: a pass is given once per account in any 365 days, a pass can run out of places, and a pass is only for adults who have joined. If you have used a Plus pass in the last 365 days, you can still take part and use the included sessions, but you won't get another pass. The join page tells you before you join, and your dashboard shows the pass when it is on your account.
- Teams and Plus. Joining or running a team gives no pass. Each person who joins the challenge on their own account can get the pass, on the terms above. Separately: Team members in the challenge get full Plus until 3 days after the last day. To have it you must be in a challenge team and enrolled in the same edition (and 18 or older); you do not have to listen a set amount. It runs from the edition's first day. Before then you have the included sessions and your own free hours or pass. It does not use up your pass, so it applies even if you had a pass in the last 365 days. It ends at once if you leave the team or the challenge or are removed, never charges, takes no card and never renews. Plus included this way is subject to the same fair-use limits as other Plus, and its personal renders are made after those of paying members.
- No card, no renewal. A pass needs no payment details, doesn't renew and charges nothing. When it ends, Plus simply stops. 2hives Plus is a paid subscription, A$19.99 a month or A$119 a year (other currencies on the Pricing page); it renews automatically until you cancel, and only if you subscribe yourself. We will not start it for you.
- What you keep. Your account, your challenge record and your certificates stay yours when a pass ends. Anything made for you while a pass was on stays in your library, but needs Plus to play.
- A pass has no cash value and can't be exchanged or transferred.
6. Teams
- Starting a team. Any adult (18 or older) can start a team for an edition that is open to join, and becomes its captain. You confirm that you are 18 or older. A team has up to 200 members. The invite link works until 14 days after the edition ends, but only for people who can still join the challenge: once joining has closed, a new person can't join the team, and nothing is recorded for them. Members already in the team are not affected. Starting or joining a team does not enrol you in the challenge.
- Joining. You join with your own account, by choice. You confirm you are 18 or older; we do not let anyone join a team without that confirmation. You can leave at any time. The captain can remove a member, who can't rejoin with the link.
- What the captain sees. Who is in the team, by the name each member chose, never an email address, so that a captain can remove a person. And team totals for the whole team, only once at least 5 people have joined: the share who reached 10 minutes today (shown as a band: under 40%, 40 to 70% or over 70%, or "fewer than 3 people"), the team streak, total minutes rounded to the nearest 10, how many joined the team's live session, and the team's points rounded to the nearest 5. A count of 1 or 2 is shown as "fewer than 3". The captain does not see what any member listened to, how long any one member listened, a member's own streak, or who was at a live session (a member or a guest).
- What the captain must not do. Ask members whether they joined or what they listened to; require, reward or penalise taking part (that includes an employer or a club); share the invite link publicly; use the captain's view to monitor or assess any person; present the challenge as a health, wellbeing, safety or duty-of-care measure. We do not provide a team to anyone under 18.
- Organisations. If a captain acts for an employer or another organisation, the captain confirms they are authorised to. The organisation is not our customer and does not receive anything from us. It has only what the captain chooses to pass on.
- Team names. A team name is shown to its members. It is shown on a public leaderboard, and on members' public profiles, only if the captain allows it. A team name must not be the name of a person or an organisation you don't represent, suggest an endorsement by 2hives, a charity, a government or another body, or break the content rules in section 8. We may rename a team to "Team #n", remove it from the leaderboard, or close it.
- Team pictures. The captain or a co-captain may add a picture or logo to the team, from our generated pictures or an upload. For an upload you confirm that the team has the right to use the image or logo. No photos of people, no contact details, links or codes, nothing that infringes another's rights or breaks the content rules in section 8. It is checked before it is shown and anyone can report it; after three reports it is hidden until a person decides. It shows to the team's members, and to the public only if the captain also allows the team name to be public. We may hide or remove a picture at any time. The captain can remove or replace it whenever they like.
- Inviting people. Any member can invite people to the team and the challenge by sharing the invite link or by using "Invite people" to write from their own email app. Only invite adults who would expect to hear from you. Do not post the link publicly, buy or scrape addresses, or invite anyone who has said no.
- Points and the leaderboard. 1 point for each member who listens for 10 minutes that day; 2 points for a member who also joins a live group session from its start (the team's own session or a public Together session) and hears at least 80% of it, and never more than 2 points for one member on one day however many sessions they join; 25% more on the members' points for a day when at least half the team joined the same live session; and guest points as set out below. Teams are ranked by all points (members' and guests') per member. Teams are ranked by points per member, so a small team can rank first. Only teams that chose to take part and have at least 5 members are listed, and the points shown are rounded to the nearest 5. The ranking is for interest only. There is no prize.
- Live attendance is part of being in a team. Being in a challenge team means that your attendance at live group sessions (the team's own sessions and the public Together sessions) is recorded against your account and counts toward the team's points. You are told this, and tick a box to confirm it, before you start or join a team. It is used only for team points and kept for 120 days (see the Privacy Policy). If you leave the team, or are removed, your attendance records for it are deleted. An account that is not in a team is not recorded. The captain never sees who attended.
- Team sessions and guests. A captain, and up to two co-captains the captain names, can schedule group sessions for the team from the challenge's ready-made sessions: up to 3 a day and 40 in all, inside the challenge dates. A session is open to guests unless the captain turns that off. A guest is anyone who is signed in, is 18 or older and ticks the notice on the share link, whether or not they are in the team or the challenge. The guest's attendance is recorded against their account with the team's number, kept for 120 days, and can be deleted sooner on request. A guest who is there from the start and stays for at least 80% of the session gives the team 1 guest point; a guest gives points to one team a day (the first qualifying session), at most one point per team member for each session and at most twice the number of members for each day. Guests do not count toward the "half the team joined" bonus. The captain sees guest totals only, rounded, and never who the guests were. We may ignore attendance that looks arranged to gain points, for example many accounts made for the purpose, or temporary email addresses.
7. Invite a friend
- Your invite link carries your referral code. When the person you invited has made an account through your link and has listened to at least 30 minutes of full sessions, you each get 2 hours of listening that can be used for 30 days. You can earn this for up to 5 invited people (10 hours in all).
- The hours are listening time, not money. They have no cash value, can't be transferred, and expire after 30 days.
- No reward is given for yourself, for the same person or mailbox, for temporary email addresses, for administrator accounts, once you have reached 10 hours, or if we have good reason to think the invitation was not genuine. If an invitation does not earn hours, your account page says so and why. We may withdraw hours obtained that way.
- Send your link yourself, to people who know you. Don't send it in bulk, post it where it isn't wanted, or pay for or buy invitations. We don't send invitations for you and don't keep a list of the addresses you invite.
8. Public profile and share cards
- A public profile is off unless you turn it on, and only adults can have one. You choose each item that shows. Our Privacy Policy lists them.
- What you may put in a name or bio. Your own nickname and a short line about what you do. No email addresses, phone numbers, links, advertising or selling; no names of other people or organisations that suggest you are them or speak for them; nothing that suggests you work for 2hives; no title or claim that you are a doctor, therapist or other health professional; no health claims or promises about what meditation does; nothing unlawful, abusive, hateful, defamatory, sexual, or that targets or identifies another person; no picture of anyone else, of children, or of a famous person.
- Checks and removal. We check names and bios automatically before they show, and some are held for a person to review. Anyone can report a profile. After three reports from different people, it is hidden until a person decides. We may hide, edit or remove a profile, a handle, a team name or a picture at any time, and tell you why. You can ask us to review a decision by writing to info@2hives.com.
- Reporting something that is harmful or unlawful. Use "Report this profile", or write to info@2hives.com. We act quickly on notices that something is unlawful or unsafe.
- Share cards. A card you share shows numbers (days, minutes, group days, a badge) and your profile name only if your profile is on. Anyone who has the link can open the card. "Reset my share links" ends every earlier link. Others may have copied a card you shared; we can't undo that.
- You keep your rights in what you post. You give us permission to display it as you have chosen, for as long as it is on.
9. Emails
If you choose "Send me one short email each day", we send one email a day during your edition, a finale invitation, and, if you join before Day 1, one welcome email and one reminder the day before Day 1. You can stop them at any time with the link in each email or in your challenge settings, and you stay in the challenge. These emails are about the challenge. They never offer Plus. If you tick the separate box "Email me once about 2hives Plus when the challenge ends", we send one email about Plus after your edition ends, with its own stop link. Ticking the daily-email box is not agreement to that email. If you finish (25 or more counted days) and ticked the daily-email box, we send one plain email to say so, a day or so after the last day; it has no offer in it. We keep the time you ticked each box.
10. No prizes, no chance
The challenge has no prizes, draws, raffles or competition in which anything is won by chance. Certificates, badges and leaderboard places are a record of what was counted. They have no cash value, and they are not a qualification or an accreditation. Passes and the included sessions are described in section 5. Hours that we give for invitations are described in section 7.
11. Safety
2hives is relaxation audio, not medical treatment. Never listen while driving or operating machinery. With epilepsy, seizures or a hearing condition, check with a doctor first, or choose a session that works on speakers. Stop if you feel unwell. Please read the Safety page. Taking part is never a reason to listen when it is not safe to.
12. Fair play and ending your place
- Don't use scripts, bots, shared accounts or any trick to inflate minutes, days, points or places on a leaderboard.
- We may remove an enrolment or a certificate that breaks these rules.
- We may also remove a team that breaks these rules.
- We may also remove a profile that breaks these rules.
- Where we can, we tell you why first and let you reply.
- You can leave at any time from your challenge settings. Leaving stops counting, the daily email and the included sessions. It also ends any Plus that came from being in a challenge team. A Plus pass already on your account stays until it ends. You can come back while joining is still open, and your earlier days stay as they were. "Delete my challenge record" removes everything, and you can join again only while joining is open.
13. Your data
See the Privacy Policy. In short: your daily minutes are private to you. They are shown only if you turn on a public profile or share a card. In a team, the captain sees only team totals, as described in section 6. You can export your challenge record from your account page, delete it at any time with "Delete my challenge record" in your library (your account stays), and closing your account deletes it too. The hours-of-the-day view is deleted 90 days after the edition ends.
14. Liability
Nothing in these rules limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that can't be excluded. The challenge is offered at no charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for a loss that comes from a day not being counted because of something outside our control (for example, your connection or device).
15. Changes and law
We may change these rules, for example to fix a mistake or respond to a legal requirement. A change that is to your disadvantage will not apply to an edition you have already joined, unless the law requires it or we tell you first and you can leave. These rules are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, as in section 13 of the Terms.
